The master and choreographer Víctor Ullate has received the Biarritz City Medal in recognition for his contribution to the city’s culture and for having actively participated in the creation of an enthusiastic audience, participating since the first editions in the Festival Le Temps d’Aimer, dance contest of great international prestige that was created almost three decades ago.

The award ceremony took place on the morning of November the 20th, 2018 at the City Hall of Biarritz (France), where the Mayor of the city, Michel Veunac, has presented the award to the master Ullate, the ceremony has been accompanied by a speech by the president and founder of Biarritz Culture, Jakes Abeberry.

The visit of the teacher, together with Eduardo Lao and Lucía Lacarra, current Artistic Director of the Company, coincided with the premiere there of his latest creation, Carmen, which has hung the sold-out poster.

Víctor Ullate, who founded his dance Company three decades ago, has a close link with the city of Biarritz, as well as with the rest of the neighboring country, where his ballet has presented the great majority of his shows and where every year he visits prestigious theaters and festivals.
