Lucia LacarraLúcia Lacarra, Víctor Ullate Ballet – Comunidad de Madrid’s Artistic Director, is considered one of the most important current ballet figures, she presents a highly relevant artistic career.

She showed her interest in Dance from a very young agre and when she was 9 years old she began taking classes in her native Zumaia. At 13, she studied in San Sebastián at the Thalia Academy of Menxtu Medel, and a year later she arrived at Madrid in order to enter the Víctor Ullate School.

It was in this prestigious School where she became part of the Víctor Ullate Ballet and began to shape itself as the future promise of Dance, that now is consecrated.

The National Ballet of Roland Petit, where she was able to dance the whole repertoire of the prestigious creator, the San Francisco Ballet and the Munich Opera Ballet, in which she appears as the first dancer since she entered in 2002, builds the artistic career of this dancer awarded with the National Dance Prize in the modality of Interpretation in 2005. An award that joins others sush as the Danza & Danza award in Venice (Italy), the Positano Prize in 1995, the Isadora Duncan prize in 1999, the Nijinsky prize in 2002, the Benois de la Danza in 2003, the Dance Open award Grand Prix in St. Petersburg in 2010 and the award for the Best Dancer of the Decade in the same year.

Currently, she is permanent guest dancer of the Ballet of Dortmund, the Russell Maliphant’s Company and the Víctor Ullate Ballet.
